This last couple of weeks have been interesting!
I spent some time pulling apart my machines for a service and upgraded them to a direct drive extruder with Petsfang duct, modifed by me to take a 5015 fan. To say cooling is good now would be an understatement – part finish has improved dramatically and experimenting with printing at 0.3mm layers at 40mm/sec was a success!
I thought I’d also try some “signwiriting” the only way I know how – 3D print it! I’m not skilled with brush but am with a mouse and the finish, printed in grey ABS @ 0.25mm layers, is nice.
Further down this photo essay you’ll see a blue box and some red, pie slice shaped parts. These were for my first customer who chose 3D printing for protoyping drone parts – the box is just for the batteries and the (4) covers join to make a cover plate; its a sizeable drone for sure!
This little black car shaped model is the finished product of the Torana model I’ve been making for a customer. After a few versions of the mounts to get it sitting on the chassis nice, its turned out awesome!
